Our aim is:
“To provide services which promote the health and well being of older people and their carers to live independently within the local community”
S.G.N.S. became a Registered Charity in 1994, registration number 1055018 and over the years has developed and become an established organisation in the community it serves. Being located in Swarcliffe Community Centre, along with the Youth Service and Inside Outside Child Care, and other service providers the centre offers an excellent comprehensive community service to people from the local and wider community. Service provision of SGNS offers support, promotes social inclusion, provides information on healthy living and advice on health issues which can promote the independence of older people and their carers to live independently within the local community. Please use the links at the top of this page to learn more about the services we provide.
Now that restrictions have been eased and many of our clients, volunteers and staff have had their vaccinations, all our activities are now up and running. SGNS will still follow Government Guidelines to ensure we manage all the activities we provide in a friendly and safe COVID environment. Our aim is to provide services to meet the needs of everyone.
We are now running the following on a weekly basis in the Swarcliffe Community Center:
Monday - Digital Drop-In
Tuesday - Line Dancing Class, Shopping Trip and Afternoon Tea Dance
Wednesday - Luncheon Club and Knitting Circle
Thursday - Luncheon Club
Friday - Luncheon Club
We also offer the following types of support via;
- Home Support Visits
- Signposting and Referrals
- Mobile Library
- Quiz Packs
- Home Movie Night
- IPad Loan Scheme
Please give us a call if you would like information on any of the above. We look forward to hearing from you.
If we all work together to support each other we can achieve change to make life better for us all.
